A La Jolla Evening in White

What do the Paralympics and tuxedos have in common?  Not much – that is, not much until last month’s white-tie affair united the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) and the PEERS Network.  The evening – the 6th Annual PEERS Gala – honored the remarkable athletes who manage limiting physical disabilities every day to compete in sports traditionally outside their reach.

Inspired by the PEER Network’s vision of creating an unforgettable evening for these courageous athletes, Pantherella Specialty Events planned the event with a fun twist on the standard black-tie theme – a glamorous evening all in white.  From seating to decor, to the attendees’ stunning couture, the private La Jolla estate boasted bright white accents that created a swanky, luminous backdrop few could forget.

The fun didn’t stop there.  Upon entering, guests were greeted by expert mixologists from Snake Oil Cocktail Company, who joined forces with Ultimat Vodka to craft the evening’s exquisite cocktails. With cocktail in hand, guests toured the stunning space, participating in the lively silent auction, taking vintage-inspired selfies, and enjoying the passed hors d’oeuvres whipped up by the finest San Diego chefs.

Land Rover San Diego and Porsche San Diego even joined in on the fun, setting up their latest models – the 2014 Porsche 911 Carrera S and the 2014 Tuxedo Land Rover – all in the evening’s signature white.

The night also boasted some incredible charity auction finds – tailored to fit every guest’s whim and fancy.  For the risk seekers, two motorcycles from Triumph’s modern classic line – a gentlemanly Bonneville T100 and a boisterous Thruxton 900 – new models based on the coveted 1950s classics, each decked out by British Customs.

The party even featured one of CAF’s inspiring athletes – Paralympic gold medalist Alana Nichols, who spoke of her own struggle with paralysis following a devastating snowboarding accident…Her strength and determination were palpable, and her gratitude for the organization of the hour inspired everyone in attendance – leading to an evening that far surpassed PEERS Network’s fundraising goal by bringing in a record $265,000.

Pantherella is tremendously grateful to the all event sponsors for contributing to the 6th Annual PEERS Gala and truly making a difference in an amazing cause.
